Stainless steel sheet is produced in basically two types which are cold and hot rolled sheet. The types vary due to the various uses and applications that stainless steel can be used in. Since Stainless Steel Sheet offers a great deal of low maintenance, cleanliness, appearance and corrosion resistance to acids and water, thus, it is popular in the market.
When referring to steel products, cold finishing usually consists of cold drawing or turning, grinding and polishing. These products provide a superior surface finish, great tolerance, concentricity and straightness when compared to hot roll. Therefore, the process results in higher yield points and Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Sheet have four main advantages:
1. Cold drawing increases the yield and tensile strengths, often eliminating further costly thermal treatments.
2. Turning gets rid of surface imperfections.
3. Grinding narrows the original size tolerance range.
4. Polishing improves surface finish.
Stainless steel can be powder coated or left unpainted as bare metal, or grained finish which gives that sought-after brushed look. As compared to other sheets of commercial quality, Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Sheet has a better degree of ductility and is more consistent in performance. We use specially chosen steel for the sheets for offering higher standards of production, selection and processing of the cold rolled sheet.
Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Sheet is used for general application enclosures and sheet metal parts as often as aluminum. It is a great combination of cost, stiffness and long-term durability for any indoor applications when finished with powder coat. Stainless steel provides high strength and the stiffness to the cold rolled steel and it is highly resistant to corrosion because of chromium and nickel.
